Interpretation

Purplewood PAT Testers:

A trading name for Purplewood Electrical.

PAT / PAT Testing:

Means Portable Appliance Testing.

Customer:

Means the person and organisation named on the Quotation Letter for whom Purplewood Electrical  has agreed to provide the Specified Service in accordance with these conditions.

PAT Service Contract:

Means the contract for the provision of the Specified Service.

Quotation Letter:

Means the sheet to which these conditions are appended.

Specified Service:

Means the service to be provided by Purplewood Electrical  for the Customer and

referred to in the Quotation Letter.

Item:

Means a portable piece of electrical equipment and any associated cable that requires testing under the IET Code of practice.

Working hours:

08:00 – 17:00, Mon to Fri.

Payment and Charges

Purplewood Electrical  will invoice the Customer on completion (or agreed part

completion) of the specified service. Payment due on day following testing completion, with 14 days to pay unless otherwise agreed.

Access

The Customer will provide unrestricted access to Purplewood Electrical  for the duration of the PAT Service Contract.

If the Customer does not provide unrestricted access to the items, Purplewood Electrical  will charge the Client for additional time at an hourly rate of £35.

Items will be tested that are below 1.8m above the floor level within the room Purplewood Electrical  are working.

The Customer must advise Purplewood Electrical  prior to the start date of the

contract of any items they require to be tested that are above 1.8m from the floor level within the room they are sited.

Purplewood Electrical will charge the Client for appropriate access equipment that is required at a reasonable daily rate unless agreed in the contract or is supplied by the Customer.

Termination

Termination of the PAT Service Contract must be made in writing by the Customer. In the event of the PAT Service Contract being terminated the Customer will be liable to pay Purplewood Electrical  25% of the estimated number of items multiplied by the price per item contained in the Purplewood Electrical  Quote. The customer will be liable for 35% of the estimated number of items, multiplied by the price per item if the termination is within 48 working hours, and 50% if it is on the day of testing.

Period

Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of the quotation.

Customer responsibility

The customer must notify Purplewood Electrical  in writing of items they want to omit from the specified service. If no instruction has been received before the agreed start date of the PAT Service Contract, Purplewood Electrical  will carry out the agreed Specified Service to all items found on the Customers site and invoiced appropriately.

It is the Customers responsibility to ensure all items are powered down and switched off before testing unless agreed otherwise.

During the PAT Service Contract period the Customer will provide a nominated responsible person who is available to advise Purplewood Electrical  of locations of items and can arrange for access into buildings and rooms.

Survey

The Customer is responsible for identifying items that require special access conditions or equipment. Quotations will be based on the information presented to Purplewood Electrical  during the survey. Inclusion or deletion of items from the surveyed list or altered access conditions may result in the final cost varying from the original quotation.

Variation on the contract

Purplewood Electrical  may at any time, without notifying the Customer, make any

changes to the Specified Service which are necessary to comply with any applicable safety or other statutory requirements, or which do not materially affect the nature of the Specified Service.

Any changes or additions to the specified service or these conditions must be agreed in writing by Purplewood Electrical  and the Customer prior to the start date of the PAT Service Contract.

Supply and service

The Specified Service shall be provided in accordance with the Quotation Letter and otherwise in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Portable Appliance Testing.

Purplewood Electrical  will accept no liability for consequential loss.

Purplewood Electrical  will take all reasonable steps to locate all items as listed in the specified service on a Customer’s site. Purplewood Electrical  cannot be held responsible for items that do not receive the Specified Service during the duration of a PAT Service Contract if access is not available or items are not left visible.

PAT HMO Monthly Terms

Agreement - Contract between The Customer and Purplewood Electrical 

Term - Length of contract between The Customer and Purplewood Electrical . Term options are 12, 24, 36, 48 or 60 months and will be chosen by The Customer.

End of Term Testing - Optional PAT Testing service carried out at the end of a 60 month term. End of Term testing costs £1 a month for the full length of the Term. If The Customer chooses to start another Term, no further payments for End of Term Testing will be made by The Customer, but the service will be carried out at the end of the last Term the Customer has with Purplewood Electrical .

On Agreement between The Customer and Purplewood Electrical 

Once agreed, the Customer is responsible for making monthly payments by Direct Debit for the agreed amount, until the agreement term has completed. Purplewood Electrical  are responsible for carrying out PAT Testing, Microwave and Socket Testing once annually for the length of the Term, and once more at the end of Term if End of Term Testing has been selected by The Customer. All usual Terms above apply to each visit for testing.

Direct Debit Payment

All payments will be made by Direct Debit through Purplewood Electrical  chosen payment provider, Go Cardless. All usual Direct Debit terms, including the Direct Debit Guarantee apply.

Cancellation

This agreement can be cancelled by either the Customer, or Purplewood Electrical by giving one months notice. At the end of the cancellation notice period, a cancellation fee equal to the number of remaining months of the agreed term multiplied by £6.00 will be due. No End of Term Testing will be carried out in the event of cancellation and no payments made towards End of Term Testing will be returned.
